RE: There are far too many taxis on the road

I concur most abt donsan's logic.
Our source of income of course from pax, all depends on present economy.
Experience? yes, go where, Q or not???
Good skill helps minimize risk otherwise always visit workshop smile.gif
Hardwork and luck, yes these are major factors.

But, performance of taxi IMO really makes a big difference!

I am driving an old crown, very powerful smile.gif ... press pedal to accelerate... got very powerful sound.... car moving like a snail. It happens at least once per shift when I plying on the leftmost lane, see pax 50m away, sonata or kia always overtake and grasp. Sometimes we stop in front of red light see pax standing after traffic light.... haha F1 start, let's see.... crown is definitely a looser.

How much $$$ you made for the days depends on the present economy, driver's
experience, hard work and a little bit of luck, rather than the make or performance
of the taxi.

Sonata, Toyota, Kia, Wish, etc....... all the same.

No matter how good your taxi, how powerful, how new, or how stylish...
You, the driver need to perform better than your vehicle to achieve a good result.

i beg to differ ..... there is differences between a Sonata and a Crown .

From Parc Oasis > Airport , 2 taxis , one crown and one sonata , which one will reached Airport first ?

Sonata can be earlier by 6 minutes .

If every trip Sonata get 6 minutes earlier , 10 trips Sonata is 1 hour advantage , meaning Sonata can get $20 extra minimum , compared to a Crown .

That is my opinion .

If I drive the Sonata and you drive the Crown.
Crown will arrive earlier.

I Don't Speed To Make Extra Money.
I Slow Down To Save Hard Earned Money. police.gif

winkCheers !

Whatever model taxi u drive is not the deciding factor which arrive first.
It depends on the driver. If I drive a Merc and travel at a constant 90km/hr
and another who drives a Crown goes at 95-100km/hr, who arrives first?
It's the speed of travel la...not the type of vehicle.

sometimes we drive faster becos the radio is playing beat it!
sometimes we drive slower becos we1 2 spend a few mins moretalking to a pretty young gal.

the bottomline is, no one is ahead or drop behind anyone becos end of the day you
will only be sleeping on one bed, eating 3 meals a day and live for tomorrow again. winksmilebiggrin

There are far too many taxis on the road.

Far too many models, too many colours,

too many taxi companies, too many surcharges,

too many rules to follow...........................

too few fares to pick.
