Kind cabby gives me a free ride to airport when he cant accept credit card

Kind cabby gives me free ride to airport when he can't accept credit card
The cabby could not accept credit card payment, but he gave a free ride to STOMPer Bertrand anyway, when he was in a rush to go to the airport.

The thankful STOMPer said:

"I would like to thank taxi driver of vehicle SHC 6862D.

"I was scheduled for a flight from Singapore to Narita Airport at 12.30am today (April 29).

"I was at the Redhill MRT taxi stand at 10.30am on April 28 and I had to be at the airport one hour before the flight.

"As I did not have any cash, I had to rely on the credit card facilities.

"As the driver of taxi SHC 6862D was there, he explained to me that their Silver Cab does not accept credit cards.

"He further advised me to look for an NTUC or City Cab.

"I waited for a while but there were no other taxis.

"Sensing that I was in a rush, he offered to send me to the airport without charge.

"I was very touched by his kind deeds and would like to share this with all readers that there are nice taxi drivers in Singapore.

"Kudos to the taxi driver."

Stomper should be well prepared and not to take for granted that all Taxis can accept credit card or nets. If urgent he should have also book a cab with credit card facility with ample time to reach airport. Stomper shouldpay him backif he's a s'porean when he's back in s'pore. I'm not sure the cabdy is doing a service to the pax at the expense of himself, provided he's loaded and the miss earning does not caused a dent to his pocket. Sorry if i tends to deviate from doing good. I tends to view some of the pax with bad light when they do not plan properly and carry no cash except credit card. Some used credit card to boost up their status. Did the stomper pity the cabby for the lost of earning? did he intend to pay back? Only thanks him for the services done....that's all. The bottom line stomper should know that..... IN THIS WORLD NOTHING IS FREE.

what a big contrast, right?
Cabby smokes blatantly and spits on the road while driving
STOMPer Dave was disgusted by the behaviour of this cabby, who smoked and spat on the road while driving.

This STOMPer says:

"I caught this cabby smoking and talking to the taxi driver beside him while waiting at a traffic junction.

" He also opened the door and spat outside on the road.

"His behaviour was very gross!"

yup, i agree that this is not the right way of doing "good deeds" at the expense of the livelyhood of the majorities ..... its hard work earning as a taxidriver..... hope no one spoils the market again... such practice may send wrong messages to the general public....

Bro, taxis are easy targets for the public. Any little things u do that they deemed out of line,
they'll snap a pic and send to Stomp. But if a pte car driver does the same thing,
these so-called 'public-spirited' citizens won't even give them a second glance.
That's the way it is in Sillypore bcoz taxi-drivers are not unionised and there's no one
to speak up for us. Don't even think about the taxi coys, they are only concerned about
their yearly profits and pleasing the share-holders.
That's one of the main reasons for the formation of STC. Unfortunately, up to present,
we are still a distance from our target strength. Until that day comes, I urge all fellow cabbies
to be more alert and mindful while behind the wheel.
Don't let the kaypoh public have any chance to 'shoot' u.

not to dampen the spirit of helpful cabbies here but as i have said other post.. fatten ourself b4 we can help.. if the pax have to make it to the airport in 45mins and during peak hr.. may god bless u, i wont try that much becos usually heavy traffic and i DONT want to cheong for sumone i dont even knows and pay anything extra just to allows them to reach any of their destination as they says they r late... if they r 15 mins late means that taxi will also reach there 15 mins late.. we cant scrap 10 minsyawnyawn
there was once i pick up a pax and after he hop in he tells me to rush for him as he needs to go back fast... i told him i try... along the way his friend called him and they speak in my dialect and i just kept quiet.. in dialect he told his friend that he is going home to WATCH TV!!!!!!!! FK!!! knn.. on reaching he pays me and i thank him in my dialect.. he like stunt.. CBnonobleh

I'm learning as each day passed, now if pax say cheong...in my mind i will remind myself...asking me to cheong to hell is it! Got one aunty say uncle urgent drive fast fast..me thot must be something happening...so me cheong and cheong,,,reached near the place turn here turn there at last her destination...Temple. Cheong to pray to the heavenly god. Another, around 11.45pm...pax say..uncle drive fast fast...old tactic just not to beat the 12am surchange. Just remember if we cheong and cheong and behave like ambulance end of the trip we will just get the fare but if along the way something happens...kena summon for speeding, beat red light, knock down people, accident...we are the one to foot the bill and maybe pay with our life.

Oops that's bad, earning return to gov. Expensive lesson, must be careful at all times, no speeding, no entry to the bus lane during peak hrs. Me also at times cannot control myself, like hell driver but max is 120km/hr.
