Last friday around 2pm was bad, It takes about 3 mins for me to get into Tampines Mall car park and I was struck inside the carpark for over 45 mins as cars all pile up trying to get out. The place was like a night mare with all drivers sounding their horns as car cannot park and cars cannot get out. Main problem are the 2 traffic lights that is within 30 mtrs. Better to avoid this area in the week end

Long line of taxis cause traffic jam at Admiralty station
STOMPer Mel73 is fed up with the long line of taxis waiting at the Admiralty MRT station taxi stand and says that this causes traffic congestion.
In an email to STOMP today (May 19), the STOMPer wrote:
“This picture was taken at a taxi stand near Admiralty MRT station.
“As per normal, the number of taxis allowed at a standard taxi stand is two.
“But look at the long wait. It reaches up to the bend where motorist need to do a left turn.
“This was taken during an off-peak period. It also occurs during off peak period, the queue is still as long and it congested the bus stop ahead of the taxi stand.
“Plus, the site works done at the venue, it definitely creates congestion.
“I believe this occurs at most taxi stands near MRT stations. Shouldn't the taxi providers educate their drivers of the rules and regulation.”

If you are willing to admit faults, you have one less fault to admit.
Simple solutions, LTA should have a quota on the number of taxis allow to be registered. This should be tack according to a ratio of Taxis:populations. All these that is happening is simply there is too many supply over demand. Cut the current taxi populations by 40% and see what happen... Pax will be writing in to complain that they canot get a taxi and have to wait long time...
In this way, the earnings of cabbies will be better and there will be no long que of empty taxis. Every taxi stand will be pick and go.
