bro Amk 1777,

if the total settlement is less than 50% of 1K then it make $ense to fix privately,
just need advice, should i ask him to go pte workshop i settle bill + rental+ 80?
try to negoiate pro rated if possible,
if cab is out of action for 1 day or less,
if 2 day is multiply of 2X = 160x2= 320+fixing( 200 )? = $ 520 ?

plus self repair cost? 200?
total = $ 720 ?
do your own sum

or call :-
and the workshop to recommend is
Bu Loon at Sin Ming Autopoint

the person to look for is Ah Yong tel: 6452 0800
teochew speaking panelbeater,
make a trip down to evaulate and call first!
it's gonna be a very buzy Monday

hope this help, smile

Beware of heartless limo cab & his greed for money:

My story as it happened to me on 9/3/09....

I was turning to slip road after Expo overhead bridge to Xiling Ave...heavy rain. CDG limo cab in front on me also turning into slip road. My glance to see any on coming cars...none whatsoever.

I thought the limo cab would turn to Xiling Ave since no oncoming traffic. He suddenly stopped. I jammed brake but road was wet so my cab could not stop in time. The impact did not caused any damage not even a scratch on the limo bumper but my front bumper was damaged & lights were broken.

See below pic:
image015ejn.jpg

I requested private settlement & said I willing to compensate any amount instead of reporting to coy. His hirer refused. So both went to Loyang to report.

LL I paid $1000 to coy & I paid my own repair. End of story right??????

CB last Friday on 12/6/09 I was handed a Writ of Summons from a law firm claiming damages for:
a) medical/transport expenses
b) Loss of earnings 3 days
c) medical report (this CB limo driver went to Mt Alvenia Hospital to get a medical cert claiming sprain back)
d) LTANET search
TOTAL $400+

I was shocked & wondered why a cabby go to that extent to claim from another cabby.

I now realised the whole procedure/accident could be a structured one.

Conclusion...beware of heartless & the greed for money cabby in front of you...it may be a structured accident.furiousfurious

This type of story is common.
Hope the "right dept" is working on it.

Bro, this is common practise, not just taxi-drivers but almost ALL drivers.
They are advised by insurance agents.
The ony thing you can do is don't 'kiss' anybody's back.

i long heard drivers using this tactics... best part is the old bird co-operate with workshop to "con" legally!!!

now i got 'problem' with mercs cab... cuz i ask around, discover most of em got walkie or in "gang"
(as in STC bros here, all out to 'help' each other)

I mean, i like the idea of bros helping each other, but not to make others suffer mah...

btw, mercs backside really hard, i also notice it on 12/6/09, my "kissing" that cost me $1.32kno

Not too expensive leh! Lawyers letter cost $150/-
Medical checkup $80/-
LTA netsearch $50/
Time spent 3 hours $75/
Total.....$355/-.
So the cabby makes $45/- only and got the disdain and disrespect from all STC members.

If Private car with some multi-millionaire entrepreneur driving...you might be hit with a much larger bill...like loss of million dollar deal.

Remember , Bros, to get black and white paper settlement in the first instance.

Bro FF, I had such experience before. Talked to lawyer friend and was told refer such claim to insurance company because such Fxxxup claim is trying luck, if really need to pay also none of your business bcos it is covered by insurance.

for $45...

might as well ask me pay him $80, plus repair at my workshop...

some times i'm damn discourage by our own fellows.

but anyway, i'm self employed. risk is still a factor, great factor!

no wonder insurance co. want to raise premium every year.

I got a clearer pic now... is team work. Something like the lions in the African jungle. The whole team share the kill.
