Daylight Hijack

I had my passenger hijacked right in front of me by another Comfort Sonata.

I warned the taxiuncle hijacker that he is committing a serious offence.

Can you believe he blantantly told me to " complain lor "

This happened at 11.40am at the Marina IR. I was there to answer an

ADVANCE BOOKING.

I immediately call Comfort cabby Assist to lodge a verbal complain.

The call centre came back to me after 10 mins.to inform that an official complain has

been lodged. That being the case, I shall not reveal more details until

the company finished the investigation.

I will make an official complain to LTA after 48 hours because the company said

they need 48 hours.

I was very angry and disappointed with the other taxiuncle that he had to resort

to blantant hijack to make just about $5.80. ( IR to Middle Road only )

The passenger came into my cab :

" Sorry I took the wrong cab, here I pay you the booking fee "

I said : " Sir, that is not our company policy, it is either you take my cab

or reject my cab. You can tell the other cab that you booked my cab and made a

mistake "

Actually pax wanted to avoid the booking fee because the taxi just dropped off a pax

and was there. How could he be mistaken because He replied to my call just 2 mins ago

and repeated my Cab number.

This afternoon a Mr. Michael Heng called. He said he has investigated and spoken

to the errant cabby. The defence that the cabby used is the " oldest trick in the book" - ACT BLURR. nononoKNN

The cabby told Michael he received a current booking and the passenger boarded
his taxi and " NOBODY TOLD ME I PICKED THE WRONG PASSENGER " ( farking act
blur and LYING BLATANTLY )

Facts:
Yes the pax boarded his cab but later he came back to my cab and said
he boarded the wrong cab and offered to pay the booking fee of $5.20, therefore
while all these were happening the errant cabby can say he didn't know.

2. I parked next to his right side and warned him that he was picking my passenger
and he cannot do that or else I will report him.

I cannot imagine he can lie like that but then again if a Bastard can hijack, of course
he can also LIE TO COVER his ass !
This is a typical scenario : MONEY already in my pocket I DON"T KNOW !!!

The Hijacker is driving a Blue Sonata : SHD 3627 G
His age : 58-63 CHINESE uncle

From Marina to Middle Road is probably only $ 6 max.

******* SO DESPERATE wor **********

Anyway Mr. Michael Heng let him off with a verbal warning.

The passenger was WILLIAM TAN - hp 9630 -0966

I reserved my right to report this case to LTA. ( still contemplating )

I can understand your frustration. As Hirer said "hope you feel better after letting it out".
Try to switch roles n think over this issue.

Put yourself in CDG's Mr Micheal Heng shoes, what will/can u do.
CDG issue verbal warning wat do u expect fm LTA.

I do encounter some of this "hijack pax" n "errant" cab driver issue. This is not new. Will share when I have the time. Need to go out soon.

Bro Cantonboy,me too, hope you feel better after letting it out.
So many years on the road,I'm sure you had battled storms and gone
through more worst cases and incidents.

Exactly, what do u expect LTA to do with the 60 yrs old cab driver?
Penalise him? Get him off the road??

Cheer up bro, don't let this incident further spoil your day.
Be happy, go lucky!

Pax must have called once for advance booking and then again for current booking when he did not get reply from booking computer.. I have picked up this pax Willaim Tan twice before on advance booking..He is a regular and Comfort is not willing to lose this customer.
Treat this as another day's bad experience.

If this is the case off course the TD say '"complain lor".

FACTS
Taxi have the "oncall" sign on.
Pax also know the cab number.
Pax do not have oncall sign on them. So taxi driver wont know.

If after dropping off pax. Another pax board my cab. Do I need to ask the pax "did u booked for a cab?".

If "oncall" cab driver come to me and say "you hijack my pax". Am I the "errant driver". should I chase the pax off n say sorry to the oncall TD ...this is your pax take it. For me ...pax board my cab. Door close, confirm location I'll start meter n proceed.

In my opinion "IS THE FAULT OF THE PAX". Unless TD tell pax "u called for cab... I can take u no need to wait for ur cab".

Pax can complain TD but not the other round. Where /how to complain pax??

When the cabby pick up the wrong pax, can the pax complain? what will happen?
Maybe control call another cab the for pax. No big Deal!
Say monday nite, got a auto booking from SGX taxi stand, arrived, pax boarded,
#1.cab: where to?
Pax: River Valley.
Drive n go.
#2. cab: where to?
pax: CCK
cab: Sorry, wats the number?
lol..........

If pax gone with after cab, call control cancel the job. Keep the num for wake up call.
