New 'give way to bus' location

I am one of many 'victims' unfairly fined $130 under new 'give way to bus' rule
STOMPer BlackRose was shocked to get a $130 fine for not giving way to buses, as she did not know such a scheme had been implemented. The STOMPer elaborates:

¡°I have been noticing many yellow banners near areas with bus-stops, saying ¡®Mandatory Give Way to Buses¡¯ so I thought it was a campaign.

¡°This was until I received a letter from LTA asking me to pay $130 fine for not giving way to the bus.

¡°They added that they will show me the evidence. They had still photos.

¡°What can still photos prove in scenarios like that?

¡°I was expecting them to show a video clip and we can establish the benchmark of ¡®Give Way¡¯ but they tried to close my case with still photos.

¡°I then checked out the internet and LTA said that it has distributed 600,000 brochures to all registered car owners and companies. I did not receive any!

¡°My trip down to LTA was an ¡®eye opener¡¯. There were many ¡®victims of this new scheme¡¯ queuing up to pay for the same offence.

¡°I was positive that many drivers were unfamiliar to this new rule and probably thought they were summoned for speeding.

¡°I seemingly heard someone speaking to an officer over the counter and he said, ¡®I didn¡¯t know there is such a rule for buses.¡¯ The officer replied, ¡®Never mind, now you pay you know.¡¯

¡°What is the definition of giving way when approaching the yellow box with an arrow? Must we always come to a complete halt when there is a bus in the bus bay?

¡°And if the bus is about to move off and somebody comes running to the bus, does that mean I have to wait for that passenger as well?

¡°Since this is a new scheme, many of us are unaware, so why must the fine be that heavy? There is inadequate public education on this.

¡°If they insist that $130 is necessary to enforce this rule, shouldn¡¯t we receive a warning letter first?¡±
