Thanks for sharing all the lobang but i will drive to places that i'm familiar and where many activities are ...like bugis, lavender, serangoon, geylang....off course expected to be surrounded with many cabs like a vulture looking for it's prey.
At times ido drive aimlessly and alone like lost in the ocean or lost in virgin jungle for hrs. Till i exhausted and seek solace in the kopitiam for a break.

Is good that more ppl take up the trade. They, their friends n families will understand the life of a TD. Will have less ATD.
Had pickup quite a lot of ex TD. They tell me is tough. One told me he give up after two months and lost his deposit. They are the best pax, no trouble at all.
Agreed not many newbies make it.
Especially those who think is easy and started as omo.
After one week cannot tahan need to find relief. IMO always start as a relief.

Purpleocean, not to pour cold water on you, but just be mentally prepared. It's not like casual driving from office to home. Many cabby will say it is tough job ... so far never come across anybody say it's smooth sailing like a breeze. Better to start as a relief to get a feel of it.

Bros,

For experience of "free and easy" ask bro Drive. Once he made enough money to cover his rental and diesel, he go play golf. After golf, he continue with his cab driving to earn back what he spent with some extra for savings for his next golf game.. smile.gif His children all grown up liao. So not much pressure from making money. Wah! I like his style. Money not that important as long as enough to cover basic necessity like food, golf game and other miscellaneous items (Geylang Happy Hour, 4-D, Toto, etc...).

It's whether the time u spent on the road , and the money u earn , worthwhile or not ?

Some newbies just cannot cope with the pace of the game .

They just dunno the 5W's : where , when , why , who , what to get business .

They will just cruise and cruise and cruise without any specifc target , any tactic or any strategies .

At the end of the day , they'll say : Pie Kia ! ( hard to drive ).

Then as days gone by , their morale really waterfall .... then became 0 motivation , then quit .

Itcan be quite a long story .

Taxi is a battlefield !

Cabbies is the warriors !

U just need something to fight a war there .

I dunno , i had observe , taxi drivers they do possessed that little something from within , every cabby i spoken to , that little something just work out nicely for them to drive a cab .

Maybe it's will power , maybe it's that desire , maybe it's that charisma , maybe it's just luck , maybe it's plain motivation ... who knows ? U'll never know .

This little something takes time to explore .

Everyone has it .

Dr Evil: Mojo: The libido. The life force. The essence. The right stuff. What the French call a certain... I don't know what.

YESSSS!! You gotta love Driving AND fetching people around...be it Wife, lover, girlfriend, or generally friends whom you yet have to meet. You must enjoy fetching before the money comes in.
The money will come with every pax you pick up..courteous pax or rude S-hole pax they have to pay you. Sometimes you see pax everywhere BUT you can only have ONE in your cab. Sometimes we cannot take our normal kopi-breaks due to drop and pick-up before you can even reset your meter.......like I said.."SOMETIMES"

Learning can only be EXPERIENCED.by yourself ...we can only guide you from our own experience .
Dont compare earnings to time spent as you will not be happy with the value.
