a young woman once told me this while i was driving on a PIE after
cruising for 20 mins from orchard. she says taxi drivers are the best
driverson the road amongall her friends. wink

Off topic a bit...if Taxis on road is not your cup of tea, can try Water Taxis, they are looking for few hundred helman for their Taxis boat. $1k during training, after getting the MPA cert, staring pay fm 2k to 2.5k. Old bird with few yrs are getting 3k.

Frankly, sometimes take River Taxi can be cheaper and faster at certain time of days.
Of cos the destination also take into account lah...

Just to enlighten all the bros here, the "water taxis" mentioned in the papers are not those you see on Singapore River. Those on Singapore river aka "river taxis" are only paid about $1500 or lessper month.
The ones mentioned are actually "port limit helmsman". They are the ones that is piloting the ferries between Singapore mainland and the surrounding islands. Those small boats going between pasir panjang ferry terminal or west coast terminal to Pulau Bukom, etc...

Pay is high but not an easy job. Thats'the reason theyonly work 15 days a month, 1 day work 1 day off, for about $2k to over $3k per month.

relatively comparing "river taxi" & "water taxis"...thus water is high compared to river.

why?...

(a) water taxi need to ferry ladies of the night to ships anchored here...go & try to find ship's name on singapore's port (just like we find condos) real hard at night

(b) ships just anchored here after getting green light for sailors to come ashore...need taxis mah...water taxis that is...ship is taxi stand...try go & find in the open water for that ship real hard

if sonatas or trans cabs can run on water...no need for water taxis hahabiggrinbiggrin...out in our waters also have ERP & CBD charges hor kakakabiggrinbiggrin

hi bros, just to share info, pls beware that not only white ants can take photo , SBS bus drive can also take photo by just pressing a button next to them!!( I am a SBS driver before!!) only bus with fixcamera can take. i dun know about SMRT bus.

ok, income is about (basic $1200) ++++OT+++allowance about $1700 for new bird, strees comes from the gps thing , u got to try to follow the timing to reach yr next bus stop, and when u are caught in jam, your lunch time or dinner time when be less , example your lunch duration is 30min , u late for 15min, u will left 15min, not an easy job as bus is not easy to drive(long), not recommened.hmm
