Various factors to consider, hence, there's no fastest / shortest / cheapest route. The permutations can be staggering especially if the distance between 2 points is far apart. A bit exaggerated here but you can see in this thread the various ways suggested by members. The holy grail would be a MUTUALLY agreed route.
As long as the TD is honest and exercise good judgement. He need not worry too much. Ultimately, if the pax complain and he is invited for kopi. He would be stating facts to defend his decision at that point in time. If you are speaking the truth, your voice will not waver and you would be staring at the officer in the eye. To me, if the conscience is clear, the outcome isn't important, whether win or lose,
It is STC Members ethos to get our friendly fare paying pax to their destination using the most cost effective route. We go out of our way to ensure a smooth ride.
The taxiuncle butt decal is like a CASETRUST label. You know you are in good hands. I speak for myself, dunno about the others.

1. Shenton Way > Keppel Road > AYE > Clementi Ave 6 > PIE > Bt Batok Road > Brickland Road > KJE > CCK Way > CCK North 7 > CCK Crescent . (Poolman)
2. Shenton Way > Keppel Road > AYE > Clementi Road > Upp Bt Timah Road> Woodlands Road > Stagmont Ring > CCK North 6 > CCK Drive > CCK Crescent. $27 (Poolman)
Bro Blue Taxi, as you can see, there's 6 route to go by, including yours. So which is right and which is wrong? How do you decide which one to go by?
1.) Always check with pax which way to go by, that will clear alot of headache. 2.) If pax dono or let you decide, suggest a couple of route to them and let them decide. Just observe this two and you'll be covered.
Fyi, i post this qn becos i pick a pax from there the other day. Before i could ask her which way she preferred to go by, she just tell me route no.5 as above. I was puzzled why she wana go by that way? But i just kept quiet and said okie! (Long distance mah) So along the way we start to chat and i ask her why she preferred to go by this way? Her ans: "This is the best way, i've tried every possible route and this is by far the best way." I was thinking "how can this be the best way when it's distance is longer?" But then i just con't and tell myself "let's see." Upon reaching the destination, the total meter fare include peak surcharge n ERP at ECP was $25.10. Hey, that's a pretty low fare! Cos the average fare that i collect using route 1, 2 or 4 is $28.00. Not forgetting that the time taken for the journey was shorter too. So on that day, i learnt another new route. Everyday is a learning process, regardless what you do, keep yourself open bro!
