I must thank the lovely $5 surcharge. While everybody chiong for the 5, I just take booking + CBD $3... take until hand sore.
Attempted squeeze into F1 stand but failed cos too early not much pax and some pax are v smart they pay booking rather than 5. MDT displays Nicol, Suntec high demands... 200+ taxis ... I bochap just enjoy my 2.5+3.
was lucky to bouch between the city area on sat nite. was in middle rd when the time hits 2235 hrs. saw many taxis turning into nicol hw by the side rd of prince from beach rd. so i followed even when the light was showing that the hotel inter-continental needs taxi. i skip the $3 and go for the $5. (make biz sense right?)
by the time i reach nicol, taxi Q was beri long. stretch from concourse toshaw. no choice,wrong decision. but luckily my 1st trip was only to aljunied MRT, so managed to bite the cherry twice with $5 and once from furama hotal after midnite.
Sunday night, traffic was smooth and orderly. After 2 days, traffic wardens and security personnels looks tired and less energetic.
Race ended at 10 pm. No mad rush for cabs. People seems to know cabs plentiful were waiting for them. Some avoided the taxi stands and headed to other places to avoid the $5 surcharge.
By 11.15 pm demand for cabs at designated taxi stands - game over.
After midnight still some paxs to pick in surrounding hotels, drinking outlets and circuit pit areas. But mostly foreigners on short trips to hotels.
For cabbies takings, this year F1 is definitely not as good as last year.
But if estimate figures show, 80,000 spectators and staffs will to spend $50 on taxi in 3 days, $4 millions has been distributed to all cabbies otr.
Friday night vehicle send to workshop because of gearbox. Sat good but took half an hr to reach Ritz form orchard tower. Sun good lar no much taxi otr but 10.30pm workshop again power window.
You should used location $1 till $5 and City $3. Anyway, I was not in the area throughout the whole road closure days. Tried very hard to avoid the area altogether....
Never get to it....there is only once i managed on Fri around the suntec roundabout to enter but traffic controllers will decide which taxis to enter the taxi stand, bounced me out from the 1st round about to the exit round about......so close yet so far....then got directed out and enter city again time keep ticking....at 0002h , got pax flag and went to siliso beach resort, missed the CBD surcharge
It should be CBD + $5 F1, 8 is correct.
