Bro Ace, Marina Barrage is a Dam.
It separate the sea water fm entering via our Singapore River.
It's purpose is to keep our fresh water in and not flow out to the sea like before, hence increase our water catchment area.
In other words, with e Marina Barrage in place, our reservoir capacity has increase vastly.
With regard to using KPE fm East Coast Park to Hougang, it's much smoother and faster as compared to the route u use via Still Road.
Traffic lights + heavy traffic is always a headache using Still Road, hence the reason why many preferred KPE since it open.
It's a classic example of the shortest route is not neccessary the fastest route. smile.gif

Was travelling along KG Java rd going to Keppel rd to Vivo City....got call booking Dophin lagoon bus stop, sentosa.....pressed 10min on mdt, reached there nobody in sign....press No Show after 15mins later, approved.....lesson learnt.....bus stop definitely a NO to accept future call bookings....while waiting Mr Robert, saw many empty taxi travelling to and fro along the bus stop area....

At abt 11am, waited at Tiong Bahru Market Taxi stand, 1st in queue, the taxi behind me, went to buy things....Taxi uncle SHA X153J dropped his pax on the outer lane beside the taxi stand......and another lady with bags of purchase went to his taxi....i had no idea why she took that crown instead of my taxi in the taxi stand.....

Later, about 5mins later, another pax wanna board the taxi behind me, she is trying to find a taxi, then she came to the front of my taxi, then she realise my Sonata is a taxi.....its common that Crown look more like taxi.....

Rejoin ECP towards city, pass Fort junction and start to look for slip road to join KPE

from the left. This road is a left hand loop road.

It was past midnite almost to 1am....I was driving to woodlands centre checkpoint, the queue was too long, so i dont wish to queue and was heading back home, after travelling for few mins, i stopped my taxi beside the road around woodlands area to make a call back home.....then out of nowhere, came a little girl around 14-16 years old, asked going to tampines st 81 , is $30 enuff? I said dont worry, just get on. When we reached the destination, fare is only $24 with midnite charge. She thanked me for sending her back safely.

Dear fellow taxi drivers, you been doing a great job sending pax safely back home! Come to think of it, you are doing good deed everyday! I recalled one of the forum member posted that as a good deed by sending pax home safely. I agree it is! Keep it up, guys!

Sorry that part I'm not quite sure bcoz before they opened

another section ( can't remember road name ) I usually exit via Ave 3, Ave 7 and

towards Ave 10.

Just remembered it is called Buangkok Green I think - that section

I still have problems memorising.

Bro Ace, it is important to get a street directory so u can understand better when we mention the route we suggest.

Though by sending pax home safely is a good deed, it's being taken granted by most of the pax.
When u realise tat, don lose heart cos our family, friends and ppl tat u care are being send home safely by other cabbie too.
Though most pax take it for granted, but u, me and many others will not.
Cheers! smile.gif

One morning, Ah Beng with tatoo took my taxi from Lor 24 Geylang to Lor 3 Geylang.....stopped at Lor 3 Geylang right most lane near a petrol station, asked me to wait......crossed the road to shop to buy something......and actually came back within 2mins....then back to Lor 24 Geylang.....from rightmost lane....cut 3-4 lanes back to mountbatten road...glad there isnt much traffic.....reached Lor 24 Geylang, Ah Beng paid $5 fare.

Ah Beng and Ah Seng been trying to flag down taxi around 1300h, several taxi ahead of me stopped but moved on.....i got flagged and stopped at a distance away from Ah Seng, Ah Beng also managed to flag another taxi and got in. Ah Seng who got into my taxi look quite fierce and with tatoos, i asked go where? He say go sengkang, i say go by which way....he directed me "Left", "Right" in hokkien...I drove faster than usual, hope he reach fast and get off..the thought of other taxi drove past them already create some terror deep in my heart..finally reached a hdb flat near Rivervale Mall, fare is $10, Ah Seng paid $10.

3 Ah Lians took my taxi from Orchard Plaza around 5am going to Boat Quay, used GPS to track and found Boat Quay, but it directed me to a route going thru a small route from the Clarke Quay Taxi Stand.....make a U-turn....Ah Lian then directed me to go straight and turn right....then turn left to New bridge rd.....and into a small street, passed by Archipelago shop....Fare 7.50, discount them 50 cents, accept $7. I heard them saying, drink not enuff, and came to the pub here to drink more, Ah Lians aged about 22-25....but all called me uncle haha...

Recently my rear right tyre been losing air....one day i woke up it was flat....went to the nearest kiosk to pump it.....but cannot....air cannot get it.....later press the FLAT tyre pump option, then managed to pump up the tyre....i found a nail on my tyre....it is inside and cannot be pull out, so that is the reason why i was able to run half a day before the tyre lost more air....went to Loyang workshop. At the reception, was told to drive towards the tyre section, tyre crew patched up my tyre, received a form, told to hand it to lady counter 7-9 and bring back the form...after tyre patched, able to drive more at ease.
