Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. This fare promotion, posted on a blog site, promises passengers a $1 fare to anywhere in Singapore, if they can identify the Silvercab cabby known as Uncle Frank.
STOMPer Ang KK, who came across the blog, was quick to point out that he was not Uncle Frank.
"By the way, I am not Uncle Frank," he said.
According to the blogger, Uncle Frank, if passengers can identify him as Uncle Frank the Cabby when they board his Toyota Crown Silvercab, they win a maximum fare of $1 to any destination in Singapore, inclusive of all surcharges.
Uncle Frank's blog is just one of the many 'cabbie blogs' listed on the site. The site features the writings of cabby bloggers from all over the world, including those from Sydney, London and New York.
Uncle Frank said he has been a taxi driver since 1997. He said he loves his country and that his experience driving around Singapore is useful, as he functions like a tour guide to foreigners who visit the island.
The cab fare 'promotion' begins on October 1 to December 31 2009.
Uncle Frank said:
"Please take note that I am only on the road from 5.00pm to midnight every day, including holidays.
"So all you people out there, try and guess who this mysterious and friendly neighbourhood cabby is!
