Guys,

I went to SMRT, Trans Cab n Premier just now. Below r the details:

SMRT
Deposit - 1000 (500, 100 weekly) if take course from them can use course fee to offset deposit within 3 mths passing VDL.

If crown under enhanced hirer benefit,
3 days rental rebate per mth, 30 diesel rebate per mth
Rent - 84.90, loyalty discount 1825 per yr, 21 days notice

Note: staff hirer scheme I did not ask abt it.

Trans Cab

Wish 2000cc (New)
Deposit 1500, did not ask abt installment as the lady seems rushing time.
Radio fee 27/yr, windscreen premium 32.10/yr, Admin fee 32.10 (1 time)

4 days rental rebate per yr, on quarterly basis.
Rental - 105.93

Note: Trans Cab have other incentives which will be a long list, best is to go down n check.

Premier (For NEW driver Only)

Kia Magentis 2000cc Auto Diesel
Deposit 250, Bal 750 top up by company quarterly. If resign after 9 mths service, will get be 1000 deposit instead of 250.

2 sundays free rental mthly (2nd n 4th sunday)
300 accidental free incentives 1/2 yearly
795 road tax rebate yearly
Rental - 102.72, 14 days notice

Hope the above info helps in some way.

I should be joining SMRT or Premier.

Now I have 2 options, hope bro here can give your opinion.

Option 1 (GST not included)

Go for SMRT but take Hyundai Azera which rental is 107 then wait for Toyota Crown rental at 74/84.90 or Nissan rental at 65 (may take 3 weeks or more).

Option 2 (GST included)

Don't think so much, just go ahead with Premier n take Kia Magentis rental at 103 to try out 1st, If cannot make it then resign with 14 days notice n switch to SMRT within 3 mths of my date of test pass to claim my course fee.


Guys, which will you go 4 it?

low rental (crown) + slighly cheaper diesel = smrt
auto car + off on 2 sunday = premier.

SMRT no Crown or Cedric now?
Don be fool by them to drive the Azera 1st, tell them straight that u want a Crown or Cedric, if they say need to wait, tell them don make you wait too long cos if CDG call you b4 them, then you'll join CDG.
If the above is the only two choices, then option No.2 will be my choice.

Hmmm.... Seems like Option 2 gets the green light as i tot earlier. SMRT side say Crown n Cedric waiting time is ard 3 weeks....

Btw when u guys having meet up? My contact is 83029624, I m Alex, can just u guys 4 kopi in future. How 2 join the talkie grp n how much actually u guys prepare when 1st starting 2 drive?

Hi NYK,
For the transcab wish, is the monthly rebates of $716 still valid? I understand that existing Transcab Wish hirers are getting that at the moment.

Hmm.. u waiting for collection of license from LTA? I thought need to show them a physical TVL when signing on the hirer's application form ... anyway, me just passed my TVL and waiting for LTA letter too...

Get your OA to issue u another permission to open an OUB account...reason drive CDG taxi....not a problem with it...

Fyi, CDG also have this option, Transcab also but only if you take crown from them.

Both CDG and Transcab only need to give 7days notice, unlike Premier 14 days.
Heard that SMRT got a Staff Hirer scheme, taxi rental only $40/day but no relief allowed, wonder you found out anything about it?

Wonder why no relief allowed. The taxi offered cannot run more that 15 hours ??

Heard from fellow cabbies lately that most of the one year old taxi that
developed engine trouble are those that run long hours. Could this be
one of the reasons.

Yes it is. If u r from smrt then dun nid wait, just n take photo dun nid letter 1.
