Something wrong with the CDG booking system


I wonder if it was due to system bug or coincidence and want to share here.

About a week ago, got booking job from Normanton Park after pax on board when we heading Bukit Batok the pax mobile rang.... hello, [the other side ......] I'm on a cab, a comfort taxi [the other side ....] the number is SHCxxxx and my name is displayed on the screen should not be wrong [the other side spoke quite loud .....] hey hello, this is not my fault, this taxi number was given by your company, I think you better check with your company, not me, ok? [hangup]

I asked the pax and he told me another CDG driver call him claimed that somebody hijack his pax.... why another cabby gotten his number and went to same spot?

Yesterday, got booking job from Pasir Ris Farmway 2 same thing happened. When I was on TPE pax mobile rang.... same Q&A and pax told the other side aiyo don't talk to me ok? talk to your company ok? my name and mobile appears on screen how can it be wrong? I asked the pax again, he told me that another taxi driver is waiting there, aiyo I pay $2.5 still need to entertain you guys? knn.....

Any bros gotten such experience recently?

Is CDG now running test "first come first serve" pilot project?

I have encountered 2 experiences on this matter. But the MDT shows 2 TXs.

1st time :
Got a call booking to Parkway Parade around 2200h, I was near the area and reached within 3mins. When i reached, saw a taxi and all pax got into that taxi, then my call booking cancelled.

2nd time :
Got a call booking to IMM around 2130h, while i was driving towards IMM. I was very near, and reached within 3mins, and waited at the taxi stand. Pressed arrive and call unsuccessful. 5mins passed then another taxi having "On call" waited at the drop off point. He seems to be talking to pax that called the taxi. I tried calling pax mobile but number busy. The "On call" taxi left after some pax got in. I continued to wait, after 2mins, call booking cancelled. And the pax returned my call and asked who called....I said I am the taxi driver and it does not matter now since the call was cancelled. I left the area though there are many pax waiting at IMM.

Please checked your MDT booking comment, does it indicate 2 TXs, this is the only reason I could figure regarding your case. If it is not, then your are probably right that we could be facing a new system bug or whatever.....

There was another ocassion where pax booked 2 TXs, it was at Pasir Ris Park entered by Elias Rd, carpark. After some pax got in, the caller was still waiting for another taxi. Some pax really need 2 TXs....but some conveniently.....misused the service to their advantage.

I dont really like the idea of 1 mobile calling for 2 Taxis, coz when we called in the line is busy as the caller was talking to one of the taxi drivers. I do hope the call system would limited 1 taxi per mobile number to avoid confusion and misuse.

Both occasions my call booking cancelled, the taxi that those pax got in are from CDG as well coincidently.

It happened to me one night at Millenia Tower.
There were 3 taxis, including myself, all having the same particulars of the pax.
I was the first to arrive. After waiting for a while, I got out and ask a man standing by the taxi-stand
if he was the one who booked a cab. He said yes but the taxi number given to him is not any one of us.
The taxi supposedly assigned to him did not show up.
I then called the call-centre and explained the situation to them.
After that, passed my handphone to the pax and the operator told him to take the first cab, which was me. Destination : Jurong West.
The other 2 taxis lanlan and went off empty and angry after their bookings were cancelled by call-centre,
even though there were some people at the taxi-stand waiting for taxis.

I think now comfort is not going to show pax number anymore. I got tonnes of calls with no number these days. Could it be because of this problem? maybe if TD wanna kpkb then kpkb to call centre instead.

Another deduction is one of the 2 cabs the IVT is modified. Modified sets tend to clash with other cabs for the same call.

Is your IVT modified? wink

guys , very common , duplicate bookings .

It's been like that since 2008 before i quit .

That is why sometime u got a job , and very quickly , it's cancelled .

It's ok one la ..... techincal problem .

My hirers shouldn't know about IVT modification at all.

The 2 cases I've encountered was frequent CDG booking pax. I can only guess a reason why such cases happened: their H/P number could be already prioritized in the system (if such system exists) and crashed with CDG's unleashed drivers performance system (if such system also exists) and "merciful" system (if there is such a policy). Wahlau so many possible system.... how to cope???

Let say 3 taxis are closed to the spot:

First taxi who is closest, he always responses more than 10mins and sometimes late or can't find the spot, he received the job offer based on pax's given priority "Distance overrides all" algorithm.

Second taxi who always reached spot within 5mins and he is much further away from the spot also assigned the same job based on "Driver performance ranking".

Third taxi who hasn't gotten any booking job that day could be given mercy too based on CDG's "3 booking per day" promise.

In this case, three received same job and reached spot at different timing - CRASHED! CDG just sit and see.... haha you 3 guys go and try see who got it first huhhuh...

I always receive incoming "Job Offer" message, after it appeared on MDT but before my finger can touch the screen another popup appeared says "Job Cancelled, Do not proceed", sometimes after I pressed 5mins within few seconds this cancellation screen appeared. knn...

I normally press BUSY button that nite after I encountered such nonsense and continue my normal adventure.

I believed Call Center dispatched the "Current Job" to more than one taxi. By doing this Call center do not have to wait for the first to reject then start to hunt for a taxi that will accept the job.

If they response at the same time..they will get the job. On many occasions when "Call" comes in, before I could response MDT show job cancelled msg do not proceed. Maybe my finger is slower.
I too, pressed the "busy" button after some of this nonsense.

For Comfort, I think it works this way. Call center dispatch booking to all, but taxi on 'booking A' probably gets notify earlier follow by notifications to the rest on 'booking B'. I had same experience too at NRSCC. Reached there no pax, call pax no answer. After 6mins, call the Call Centeron No Show.Lucky about to leave, receivedbooking same place at the chalet! Then along the way, the first pax returned callsaying she already got the cab dispatched to her. Think Comfort in for some complaints soon.

Also dun know if you experience this. A few occassions I called the Call Center wanting to inform of 'monkeys(cops) on top' and I keep getting the 'We are closed for the day' message. When finally got them, they deny it. Craps! Also my warning was dispatch to the MDT almost half an hour later! Slow idiots!

Yes I believe they dispatch the same booking to few cabs at different interval. Whichever monkey got the peanut they still charge network fee.

Job number may tells if the booking job belongs to your group/team/server/network. If we examine job numbers from History we can see numbers are running in sequential order. I guess numbers of cabs within one group is approx 50~100 because sometimes during high demand period the number runs about 120 per 30 mins. If suddenly different prefix number displayed after we confirmed the booking then MUST be careful very high chance empty handed, my several aeroplane booking all are different groups of number.

With regard to Auto-booking (land line) contact number not shown, i've reflect to CDG and they called and inform me that the system is encountering some kind of bug which their IT team is looking into it.
They assured me that it's not done on purpose and they are trying to rectify the fault asap.
As for double booking, i've reflect this problem to them too and according to them, it's a flaw in the system.
I was not satisfy with that answer as it's unacceptable to me cos with the amount of money pump in, double booking due to flaw in system is not acceptable.
Generally these double or triple booking are despatched by the system automatically, not thru operator, hence i suggest to them, hire more operator instead.
But they tell me they are constantly trying to improve the system further.
Yeah right, thinking in my heart, trying to improve the system further to protect the pax interest, not us.furious

Ya you are right BN, they definitely do whatever best to please the pax.
Still remember during F1? Message appeared "Dear Members thank you for your support....."
Got so many $ generated thru booing right? haha come out more wicked trick and soon they will taste their own bullet as economy is getting better and better everyday.

Now A night without Booking and A night without CBD makes no difference to me.
