How to earn more

Hi,

Had been driving for almost a week but my earning is only enought to cover my rental.

Is there any ways to earn more? I need to support my family.

I start driving at 7.30am and end at 5.00pm

Thank you

If single shift, die liao. Only cover rental. Your taxi drink water???

If split shift, cannot be.

Pick up a street directory. Try to know most of them (roads) - Very well. And know how to go there, there and there.

Pick up 100% of paxs that you stop for. It is money to be earned. Even it is a damn short trip. You never know the next one- maybe a continuing one, is a long trip mah???

I prefer to go HDB areas in morning peak hours. Even after dropping CBD paxs.
After 10 am, I like to go industrial areas, CBD taxi stands. Hotels and small roads. (I dont queue if the taxi Q-wing is more than 1 taxi)
Learn all the embassies locations.

I dont go to airport empty. If the queue is more than 30 to 35 at the 3 terminals. I go business park and private estates. I dont go budget, dont know why also....

Comfort/Citicab TD like me got better advantage with call bookings. Certain bookings, I dont take. Like private estate all the way in, up the mountain type. Please let those whom prefer exclusivity walk down till their underwear wet towards the main road, since that is what they want - they get......

Drunk pax, I also dont take.

Just drive, and pray to whatever you believe in. It helps.

I start around 8.30 am, clock normally around $160 to $210 by 5 pm. Stop around 9 pm. Made around $250 to $330 in total.Ever record $400 in rare fit.

sunshine, your income is really too demotivating.

on average, each hour of driving should fetch from $20-$30, good time + good trip can reach $40.

if you dont achieve the above, there is something wrong with your routine.

first, you must know where to go at what time. like morning peak should go estate since that is the

time pax going to work and etc. another suggestion is, download the parlingo apps on your mobile

and join our chat group, they will guide you along the way.

feel free to PM me for my contact if u r interested.

good luck! biggrin

Now i know my problem.

I do not have most of the road and have to depends on my GPS. And also find it very dangerous to drive while keying in the road which the customer wants.

Even when customer name a place which i know how to go....i will suddenly forget.

Please help

try to get the pax to guide you the way to the destination.

unless they really do not know the way, most of the time, they are more than willing to help.

dont stress yourself, take some time to be relax and listening to soft music may help.smile

I am a newbie myself and would like to share with u my experience. I just started driving early this month and already make money on my first stay. I am a hirer with no relief. I do 2 shifts, morning and nite with break in the afternoon, total 12-14 hours a day. The timing of driving is important. If u cover peak hours, the earnings is significant cos of the 25% surcharge. So driving 4 hour peak is equivalent to 6 hours non peak. I am totally clueless with roads and really on my gps for each single trip. I will tell my pax i am new, ask them what route they prefer and they will guide u, if they dont know, then u use the gps. So far, pax are understanding with me, maybe also becos i charbo. Lol. I cover town area cos i am more familiar with town, hotels and airport trips. i find airport trips help me to get familiar with the routes cos the chances of repeated routes are high. so i think u may wanna do an area u are familiar with e.g. your residential, to build your confidence. But i also make it a point not to spend time socialise. Dont forget our time is money. No coffee shop talk for me. I spend 15 mins makan only. Take toilet breaks regularly. Quick nap in the cab when tired. Hope this helps. Jia you!

you should go through the street directory by estate one by one. start from your home ground. learn to familiarize the area. follow by learning the next estate and so on. one of our guru has also mentioned. learn all the exit points from the expressway. eg. ECP from Airport - first exit link to PIE/TPE, second exit link to Changi coast road and third exit Bedok Road/ East Coast and etc....

expressway is very important becos most of our route is travelling on expressway. one wrong turn would means time and money lost. also one extra infamous radio coming from behind. biggrin
