Public transport in Singapore ranks ahead of Hong Kong and European cities such as Paris and Amsterdam while taxi service in Singapore ranks the second best,

according to a TripAdvisor survey.
Survey results were based on more than 75,000 responses and looks at how international and local travellers view forty key tourist cities around the world.
Singapore ranks second place for 'Best Taxi Services', with Tokyo coming out top. Taxi drivers in Singapore are also the third most friendly.
Singapore ranks fifth for 'Best Public Transport', ahead of cities such as Hong Kong, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Seoul, and Paris. Again, Tokyo emerged top.
Not only that, Singapore is also second place for 'Cleanest Streets' and 'Safest Streets', with Tokyo once again bagging the top spot in both categories.

13 Dec 2012 Massive MRT breakdown at redhill MRT station

13 December 2012 evening, which was yesterday at before 11pm, i was in the train when it stopped for a very long time at tiong bahru station.
There was no announcement for at least 20 minutes. After a long wait, commuters started to walk out of the train, following some others going
up to the control station again no announcement, just following the crowd. At the control station, commuters were issued with white photocopies
of buses to take to other MRT stations with no proper instructions. We had to wait another 15 minutes to board a normal bus which everyone
cramped in and went about a very long winded ride before we reached Queenstown MRT. Total time from bugis mrt to boon lay mrt is about 2 hours.

I see thru this incident the inefficiencies of SMRT, not having proper management and damage control, no buses or alternative transport indented
for affected commuters and the uncovered news of this incident by our media. Are problems of our public transport system much worst than this?
Take note, this incident was not reported. What do you think?
