SINGAPORE - The battle for the world's most coveted title in weiqi, also known as go, has ended for now with a $488,000 grand prize at stake and neither side with a clear advantage.

The first two rounds of the Ing Cup World Professional Goe Championship finals, held on Saturday and Monday at Marina Bay Sands, ended in impasse after South Korean Park Jeong Hwan,

19, and China's Fan Ting Yu, 16, won one game each. For the final, the winner is decided through the best of five matches. This year's competition saw 32 players whittled down to two

in the preliminary rounds and semi-finals held in May and September in Taipei, Taiwan, and Chengdu, China, respectively. This is the fourth time that Singapore is hosting the quadrennial competition.

The two finalists will face off again on March 4 in Shanghai.
