For the second year, students from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) are lighting up Chinese New Year.
Twelve students from SUTD sacrificed two months of their holidays to come up with the conceptual design of the 2013 Chinese New Year Light-Up at Chinatown.
Their design features more than 5,000 red cube lanterns, which join together to form a 108m-long snake sculpture stretching down Eu Tong Sen Street and New Bridge Road.
Down at South Bridge Road, 850 golden sky lanterns were strung up to form a golden snake sculpture.
Chinatown officially lights up this Saturday to welcome the Year of the Snake which begins on Feb 10.
