In any man¡¯s eyes, what cabby Ronald Moo did was a good thing. He ferried a seriously injured victim of a stabbing incident to hospital.
But the man died and Mr Moo is feeling guilty because he thinks he should have tried talking to the man instead of asking him to lie down.
¡°If I had known, I would have kept trying to talk to him, but I¡¯m not a medical person,¡± the 59-year-old cabby told The New Paper.
But the guilt should belong to whoever inflicted the horrific injuries on Mr Iskandar Ishak, 45, in a pub brawl.
Mr Moo recalled his first sight of Mr Iskandar along Changi Village Road just before midnight on Monday. Mr Iskandar had blood all over him and was swaying.
¡°He looked like he was in trouble and needed help, I couldn¡¯t just leave him by the road,¡± said the cabby.
When the man got in, he managed to say ¡°hospital¡± before slumping back into the seat.
¡°The man was bleeding from his stomach and his arms, there was blood everywhere in my taxi and I can¡¯t stand the sight of blood," said Mr Moo.
