A new express bus service that takes commuters from Yishun to the Central Business District was launched on Monday morning.
Run by SMRT, service 850E has two one-way trips on weekday mornings at 7.30am and 7.45am. The service starts from Yishun Ave 11 to Yishun Ring Road before taking the Seletar and Central Expressways to the city.
On weekday evenings, there are two one way trips at 6.15pm and 6.30pm to bring residents back to Yishun from the city. This bus service is meant to provide an alternative to the MRT for commuters.
Nee Soon GRC MP and Minister for Law and Foreign Affairs K. Shanmugam welcomed the new service, but noted it was just "a first step" and that more improvements needed to be made to transport services in the area.
