A Chinese railway company has made illegal the entry of its Saudi Arabian employees into its building, threatening to fire them.
According to Saudi Arabia¡¯s News 24 website, the company¡¯s decision was made as a result of growing tension between Chinese
and Saudi workers. The company has threatened to fine and ultimately fire the Saudi workers in case they fail to follow the new order. An official source with the company said differences between engineers and its 400 Chinese workers contributed to the current situation. A number of state-owned Chinese railway companies have been engaged in projects in Saudi Arabia. In 2012, 1,600 Chinese employees working in a project to build Mecca's first metro railway converted to Islam.
