never driven a taxi before? try to drive one for 4 weeks first before you decide.
some of our members collapsed after driving for 1 week (brand new sonata), MC 1 week (still paying rental), return cab by 3rd week. Not a joke.
My case is that I started off with CDG as OMO & returned the taxi after 1 month. I also goes along with the senior's advise here, try out as a relief first. cheers ^_^
I am still in talk with the hirer but i have feeling that the hirer is quite demanding on the cleaniness ( but i don't see anything clean and neat inside )Hahaha

1. for e.g choose to drive 6 days mon - sat and off day on sunday do i still need to pay for sunday 25% rental?
2. everyday have to go kiosk to wash taxi and vacume when handing over ?

Usually night shift drivers have to maintain the cleanliness, but I don't know what exactly he demand from you, so I won't comment on this. Some hirers require the night shift relief to wash every single day, some a few times per week, some don't even need to wash at all. So it's all depends on your luck while searching.
1. So far for me & what I heard from my fellow taxi friends (as a relief), no drive, no pay. If it is part of his request, it's up to you to accept or not, but not for you to say he is wrong.
2. As I've replied above, washing is okay but for vacuum, I think it's a little over, as vacuum cost additional few dollars, added up to few hundreds per month. I have a nice hirer who only request me to wash 2~3 times per week. I drive from Monday to Friday, so even 2 times is okay for him, but sometimes I'll wash 4 times in 5 days. Give & take lah. haha. Still, if it is part of his request, it's up to you to accept or not, but not for you to say he is wrong.
In general, there is no right or wrong, or so call standard practice. It only boils down to each individual hirer's requirement. If you can accept his request, go for it. If not, look for another one. I can only suggest to you that do not rush into decision. There is always a next village if you miss this one, but what they are having may be different. You get what I mean?
basically, the cab is a rice bowl for you and your hirer. so, try to make your customers feel comfortable and your hirer feels he got a good relief. :)
I have been a super relief since I got my TDVL....I have also encountered all kinds of hirer's in this line.
Rom is right...this is a willing buyer-willing seller business. You become relief only because you believe both of you can mutually benefit each other.
But, other than making sure that the tank is full, before handing over, whether the taxi is washed or vacuumed depends on how fussy is the hirer for cleanliness.
Making the passenger comfortable with a clean taxi is the standards we must all uphold but having to polish the taxi with wax and vacuuming it everyday is the other extreme which I believe you must walk away from.
Normally, for super relief, we will wash once every 3 days (and if it is raining, I will just past the hirer $4 to let him wash next time). If it is for longer term, I will vacuum once before handing over too.... No waxing or polishing like what my friend did to his cab as he calls it his BABY....Ha ! Ha !!
For long term relief driving, I have some hirers telling me...no washing, no vacuuming, just keep it tidy and clean before handing over....Some hirers will insist to find non-smokers...etc...
So, you just have to find a hirer who is willing to work with you. Good luck and enjoy your ride.
For a start, feel free to joy Palringo group to share and get more business..... Thank you.
