Rom, i thought whether hirer or relief also have to pay the same amount of security deposit?

oh true la. paiseh... recently keep thinking of joining SMRT. Relief's "installment" is much better than hirer, in terms of duration. biggrin

I guess you called to Premier office? The website that frenzs mentioned is the privated company. They themselves are renting from Premier to rent out to taxi drivers on a half/full daily basis. They only requires you to pay the insurance, but not the security deposit.

All the best ^_^

Called prime. Relief only can drive 60 days/year.
Hirer need to deposit $1500 no instalment. Waiting time abt 2-3 weeks. Rental various cars frm $79 to $90. Sounds like a good deal if got money to deposit. No?

Prime or premier taxi? So far I know Prime do not have the 'relief driver' policy. All Prime taxi drivers are OMO. Did they change they policy again? I also blur now... confuse

Bear in mind, Prime taxi got very minimum call bookings. If you do not have any taxi driving experience, you may suffer a lot in the beginning, depending how fast you learn to get pax.

I suggest you find out more from CDG & SMRT first, before deciding. All the best ^_^

I am still under "probation" :) (less than 6 months driving). When i first started driving, i used to take an advance booking for the first job but now i seldom take bookings cos I got played out so many times by pax, very frustrating.

Unless you are driving night shift, I think there is enough street jobs in the day. You just need to know where to find the pax. Typically i like to Q at MBS Tower 3 or some popular malls. Just need to wait a bit and the pax will come even it there were no pax at the taxi stand. However, i will drive away and try my luck some where if I dont see the taxi Q move after 5 mins.

I am driving SMRT Epica and lives in Marine Parade. I pumped at Shell mostly as their discounts to us is pretty good. I will only pump at SMRT diesel kiosks only if i am around the areas. Becos I am OMO, so i can pump diesel any time I need.

Hope the above info helps.

Hi Singarock,

I drive SMRT Epica. Weekend relief. SMRT allows payment of the deposit by installments, about $200 monthly for 6 months or so.. So far Epica no problem and good to drive. Fuel wise, for 300km, you pay around $40. I pump at Shell which gives 18% discount. Must take bookings to earn more. I usually take current bookings and about 50% to 70% of my pax are through bookings.

Transcab? never

Transcab is the second largest fleet but SMRT is more popular in terms of their nice operators.
