Incidentally, I heard from a Cisco guy who was recalled to help in the incident that they hauled in 3,700 workers for interrogation (I presume still ongoing). Let's see if there are going to be any new scapegoats.

So far, all the Indians I picked up since the incident have volunteered their opinions and shown good sense without my prompting. They all said more or less that the poor fellas are going to go down and innocent ones will be dragged down as well.

On the "bright side", I suppose some people will be given additional training to cope or help to prepare for future incidents of the kind. But the only real litmus test is actual experience on the ground.

I wonder if the guys at the top will actually address the TRUE underlying causes. The scholars you mentioned can only "process" all the "official" input thrown in. They can only process what they are told. They might even ignore "outside sources" as it is often obvious that people are in denial when you touch on their faults (or worse still - the faults of their superiors).

i dont usually chat with pax unless they wanna chat.

i dont really like to talk, concentration on the road is more important. i think sometimes my pax feel tense cos i pull a straight face cos yesterday my pax said something funny and i laughed. his brother said to him, "you made her laugh". :)

Yesterday, I fetched an Singaporean Indian lady from AMK. She had asked me if i mind taking her to Tekka Market. I dont mind at all, with or without the riot. It doesnt really bother me. I have always avoid little india in any case due to the rampant jaywalking and chaotic traffic and illegal parking.
But I am sure there are cabbies who would avoid little india at all costs.
Such is the sad state of things.
p.s. some scholars up there think that banning alcohol in little india in the weekend will solve the problem. These people sitting in their ivory tower dont know got this thing called "tapao" or "BYOA"???? What a joke!!!!!!!!

Er...Sis Chiku, the ban is restricted sale of alcohol and consumption of alcohol in public places at Little India. So, you can tapao from NTUC in Jurong, but cannot consume the alcohol in Little India. They just don't want large groups of drunkards gathering around. How they are going to enforce is another thing altogether...You pour the wine into a mineral water bottle and drink also nobody will know, hahaha...

But, if I am a foreign worker, I will avoid Little India altogether cos for sure, the police will question me if they see me around.

Well, guess where some of them go nowadays - since Little India is not so hot now with regular patrols and partial ban on alcohol consumption ?

I picked one guy from Boat Quay to Mandai Estate on Xmas morning. I sent another group to Orchard Towers later in the evening.

Orchard Towers got tea dance in the afternoon, mostly patronise by pinoy maids, so i guess the banglahs go there to pick up gals la. I know this cos I happened to pick up a pub manager working in one of the pubs at Orchard Towers on xmas pm.
