Hi bro Rom,
Auto bid is for the nearest OC location to you??

Hope something miraculously happen to 'reinstate' me bck for OC, sometimes is like I am not sure of location so don't dare proceed .. Shd at least try one Adv booking.. Hopefully that will slowly put me bck.

I'm not very sure about how it works either. Maybe you can consult other SMRT drivers. :)

For what I know, do not worry too much for that. After you start to pick up more OC, it'll revert back to normal I guess.

I will try to take booking if I start to drive next week. Good way to learn OJT. Also more earning.

I don't think there is any reason the company wants to penalise you for not taking booking. Many taxi driver don't take booking for various reasons. And the company needs to respond fast to pax. So System will surely prompt you if you are in area where there are booking. So they need to inform as many driver as possible. May be you have pressed the do not disturb button? ha ha ha....

On my 1st day, I took 2 advance booking. on my 2nd, I took 2 advance and 4 current.
All I depend on google maps.

A 4G phone does help speed up navigation. Still monitoring the data used though.

@ davkou: I agree with your idea for the company's consideration for the pax but how actually the system works, we drivers can only assume and hope for the best. Yup, most important is do not be afraid to take calls & pax. Of course, if you can judge quick enough that the area is a hassle to reach, let it go. For example, if you have already exceed the entrance to that location & it requires you to make a big route back, forget it.

@ Lex: Yup true but hopefully there is no call disturbance while using the GPS on your phone. :)

oh you only do weekend. i have been driving for last 5 days. I took some time to understand how on call works and knowing that most location are within your current location. Initially I don't dare to take as I have no idea where the place was. But after buiding up confidence, I always try to bid 12 mins. If I got the confirmation, I will to try to stop onthe road side, entered the address into my gps (mobile phone apps call WAZE) and then go to the location.

One think I learnt yesterday. When you are already at a taxi stand in CBD during peak, do not take On Call. There will surely be someone coming for taxi. I was at Liang Court Taxi Stand and when I reached there, no one at taxi stand, I wait for about 1 minutes ther was an On Call, and I took it. The moment the confirmation arrived, someone knock on my windows. Then I regreted. You know why? because to go to the on call location I have to go through 2 ERP... Ha ha ha , a lesson to learn a costly way.

I like taking on call as it save me time. So get a GPS apps and start taking call.

By the way, I took my first advance, but have to cancel it as I woke up late... hahaha.

@ Davkou - Please remember that in case you drive CDG, any cancellation of advance booking (maximum twice in a month) without a good reason may entail suspension from future advance booking. Not sure about how other companies work though.
