I just passed my TDVL. I signed up for full time course. I has to do with attitude.
Test is not easy, but it is not so difficult. you need to have right attitude in learning. Be attentive in class, listen carefully to what your trainer teach and share. Study hard and practice hard. Memorised the routes, rule and regulations, demerit points and fines ...etc.
Dont expect without putting in hard work and pass.
My class has almost half the class passed on first try. majority passed within 1st week with couple of retest. To fail all 4 modules is an indication that either his english level and understanding is not up to standard, or he did not prepare hard for it, or it could simply means he is careless in doing the test.. Or may be he is just trying to discourage you...
Do your best to be attentive and revise revise revise.

In school, our passing mark is 50% (not sure now).
In taxi academy, our passing mark is min. 80%.
In such scenario, even play tikum, also must tikum logically. Simply bcos
its no longer 50-50, in terms of passing rate.
Like davkou said, effort must be put in.
As for how much effort, depends on each's individual. My hardwork and your hardwork differs...
my time taken to absorb and your time taken differs. I may take longer you may take shorter.
TS, in his case, I guess that it is the time factor that determine his failure. Test nowadays is different from last time. You get all 4 exams in full 4 hours. Now is 1 hour for 1 exam, it's being separated. Thus, if he can't read english fast enough to reduce the time spent on understanding the question, time's up.
Remedy is to brush up his english or simple way out, do not give up. Keep going to the exams & tikum. No joke. ! fine day he sure have some luck & may even get through with flying colors. all the best to him :)
