SINGAPORE - A traffic incident about a reckless van driver was reported to the Traffic Police who took swift action to deal with it.
A Stomp contributor sent in a report to commend the Traffic Police for their efficiency in taking action against a reckless driver after his report about how he was bullied on the ECP earlier this year.
He felt there is a misconception about the Traffic Police not taking genuine traffic reports seriously which he wanted to correct by sharing his experience.
Said the Stomp contributor:
"It Jan 3 at around 1.18pm, and I was on the ECP towards Changi Airport (after Bayshore) when I came across this tourist van, PA 9839T. It was fully loaded with tourists and kids.
"My vehicle was travelling at about 80km per hour on the second lane. I was tailgated and bulldozed all the way along ECP by this tourist van."
The Stomp contributor then went on to describe how the van driver abruptly swerved into his lane three times, despite attempts to alert him by honking, and how he had to keep braking to avoid a collision.
"After we passed the van the first time, the tourists were shaking their heads and looked shocked, despite the speed limit for vans being 70km/h.
"The driver was going at 81km/h and when we pointed to our video camera, he showed us his middle finger.
