Lamborghini crashes onto guard rail along
Collyer Quay just before new year

Posted on 01 Jan 2013
lamborghini_drove_into_fence_on_31_dec_2012-thumbnail.jpg

STOMPers Fiona and Matt caught sight of a white Lamborghini that had crashed onto the fence along the road divider along Collyer Quay. Said Fiona: "A white Lamborghini

drove right into the fence on Dec 31 2012. "This happened along Collyer Quay (the direction heading towards Suntec City). "If not for the pillar that stopped the impact, I

think it would have gone over to the opposite direction of the road." Fiona later further elaborated over the phone: "The accident happened around 11.30pm to 11.45pm.

The Lamborghini was travelling on the first lane and there was no car or obstruction in front of it. "We suddenly heard the sound of impact, and there was no skidding noise,

which we felt was strange. It just hit the fence and the impact seemed quite loud and the bonnet was dented quite badly and smoke came out. "A young lady, maybe in her

early 20s, wearing high heels and a red polka dotted skirt came out from the passenger side, but she acted cool, like nothing had happened. The guy, also a young guy,

later came out 15 to 20 minutes later. They seemed to be unhurt as they then walked to the opposite side of the road. "I was in a car parked on the fourth lane, we were

waiting to catch a glimpse of the fireworks, but soon the Traffic Police and AETOS came and told us to move away. By then quite a lot of people had gathered, the TP were

directing traffic and passers-by were taking photos of the accident. "I was unable to gauge the speed the Lamborghini was travelling at, but it was a clear, straight road,

so it's crazy how they managed to crash. "Later we returned to the scene to see if the couple were alright, and we saw the guy sitting on the steps while the girl was

walking around and talking to her friend. I also saw the Traffic Police pass the car key to her, and he was holding a pink IC and a driving licence. Not sure who it belonged to."

STOMPer Matt uploaded a photo of the accident onto his facebook wall after the countdown to 2013 and said: "The Lambo Gaillardo driver was clearly playing chicken with a guard rail."

STOMPer TIB1186Z also sent in a photo of the accident.

STOMPer Not Again spotted another accident at Rochor Road, this time involving bikers and a taxi driver at around 10.15pm on Dec 27.

The accident happened at the same spot where the infamous crash between Chinese businessman Ma Chi's red Ferrari and a taxi had occurred earlier this year, with fatal results.

The location is an accident hotspot which has already seen numerous accidents this year. The STOMPer said: "Yet another accident at the accident-prone Rochor Road near Bugis Junction.

"This time it involved one or two motorbikes and a cab. "Happened to pass by that area at around 10.15pm. "I believe it just happened as one biker, not known if he is one of the parties

involved or just a helper, was seen directing the traffic and no police was seen at the scene yet."

woman_slows_down_after_changing_lanes-thumbnail.jpg

STOMPer Louie is appealing for witnesses after he crashed his motorcycle into a car because the driver slowed down after changing lanes suddenly.

The STOMPer wrote: "I am appealing for witnesses to an accident that happened along CTE towards Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 at about 1.30pm on Jan 9 2013.

I suffered abrasions and a swollen knee and had to stay one night in the hospital. "An aunty driving a Kia Cerato changed lanes and came into my lane

and slowed down when I was going straight. "I could not brake on time and crashed into her car from the rear. "When she approached me, I asked her

why she drove like that? Cannot exit at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 and exit at the next one? "She told me she wanted to exit, but when CISCO came, she told the

officers she changed into my lane and wanted to exit at Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. "Even if she wanted to exit at Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, do you think I will risk my

wife's life and mine to go crash into her?? "Think about it. Be honest to yourself about what you did that caused this accident. "She shifted her car after

the accident. When CISCO asked her why she shifted she claimed that she didn't know cannot shift, and was afraid to obstruct the traffic.

'QX car' causes taxi's side mirror to bend after refusing to give way

Posted on 30 Jan 2013
unmarked_QX_car_driver-thumbnail.jpg

STOMPer Peter sent in a video showing the driver of an unmarked 'QX car' refusing to give way to a taxi driver who made

a signal to change lanes. The driver of the car even went as far as to drive so closeto the taxi that theside mirror was bent.

The STOMPer had come across the video on YouTube, which was titled "Unruly driver of Singapore unmarked police car".

However, the Police has made a check and has confirmed that the car does not belong to the Singapore Police Force.

The police also says that they are looking into the matter. STOMP understands that cars marked with a QX licence plates

are from emergency and law-enforcement agencies, which include the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force

and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. The incident apparently happened on Jan 29, at 3.13pm, as shown on the

video's time stamp. The taxi driver, who was already changing lanes, waited for the traffic to move before trying to do so again.

However, when the lane cleared, the driver of the unmarked QX car drove up next to the taxi once more. This time, the driver

drove so near to the taxi that the side mirror was bent in the process. The STOMPer said in an email: "I'm appalled by the

sad behaviour of the driver of a QX car. "It happened along Holland Road at about 3.15pm on 29 Jan, 2013.

"It was clear that the unmarked car driver behaved in an unruly, ungracious and 'road bully' attitude towards the taxi driver.

"He even drove so near that the side mirror bent the taxi's side mirror!"

@Help2reply,

How do you know that the driver is a high ranking officer? How do you know that the person using the handicap lot is a fake police man?

I do agree that stomp will be a more credible site without people who speculate, spread rumours, hauling wild allegations, usig of vulgarities, being racist and having an axe to grind!
hatelamerz said on 31 Jan, 2013 Report as offensive
@goodguyfj,

It is true that the driver is ungracious. But do you know what is road bully? You need to read up your Road Traffic Act before making allegations.

If you are a driver and you were to come across such ungracious drivers, will you force yourself into others lane or you stop and wait for other chance? Why must mati mati go in front of that ungracious driver?

Said the STOMPer:

"Cyclist's daredevil attempt.

"This evening (Feb 2) about 6.30pm at Toa Payoh Lorong 4, I saw this young lady cyclist crossing the pedestrian crossing when the light was not in her favour.

No one stopped man from riding bicycle into MRT station and boarding crowded train
man_rode_bicycle_into_mrt_station_and_boarded_train-thumbnail.jpg

A STOMPer caught sight of a man who cycled into an MRT station and even boarded the train without folding his bicycle. The old man was also not stopped by the staff there, said the STOMPer.

Said the STOMPer:

"I just want to share what I saw Jan 26, 2013 in the afternoon.

"An old man was seen cycling his way into Little India MRT station. He did not fold up his bicycle and I am not sure if this is the foldable type.

"A staff member wearing a polo T-shirt was stationed near the ticket gate (where communters need to tap in and out). He did not stop the old man from further cycling. Instead the old man cycled his way to the lift and took thelift down to the platform.

"It was crowded at that time as it was during the Thaipusam festival.

"The old man pushed his bicycle into the already-crowded train and commuters inside the train had to give space to the old man and his bicycle when the train door closing was sounding.

"Why didn't the staff member stop the old man from cycling inside the train station?"
